Emissions removal question
what emissions are best power/fuel eficiency tradeoff?
i am dropping a 130,000km 12a into my car, and want to rip it all out, for simplicity sake
but if i end up taking stuff out that affects gas mileage and get negligable performance gains.. i'd rather leave it on since its a daily driver.
Also i live in calgary so cold winters are the rule here, and any of the emissions stuff that aids cold weather running would be better off left on
any comments or suggestions would be appreciated
cheers!

First off removing any of the emission device will have a negitive effect the enviroment, because your car's tail pipe will dumping polutants into the air we breathe.
With that said:
Removing the air pump, ACV and replacing the cat. converter with a straight pipe will give you 15-20hp. Removing the rats nest will no provide any more power but save you a few pounds of weight.

Also to aid in cold weather you will need to leave the stock air cleaner intact, the air cleaner heat tube, and the stock exhaust manifold heat shield. Leaving the choke on the carburetor and a stock thermostat should be used.
