The catalytic converter will be damaged if you do not run the air pump.

If you have removed the catalytic converter then there is no need for the air pump.

Question

Well I'm thinkin about taking them out as my next project I'm goin with Black Dragon ,Monza headers @$189.95 and cutting off the flanges from the old cats and welding them to a streight pipe the same length. Will it work? I'm sure this has been done several times before,[here in WV we have no emission tests]

How will it "damage" the cats If it burns a hole through them I'm fine with that, but if it cloges them.....no deal

Sometimes when the cat burns up it can collapse in on itself and clog your exhaust.
