electronically challenged needs help w/alternator update

I need help epdating my '79 (with external regulator) to newer (higher amp) alt.
I have studied the wiring diagrams of both my car and a 83 and cannot figure how to wire an internally regulated alternator into my system. Can anyone help??

updating

Well not really my cup of tea but i will look over a wiring diagram and see if i can figure it out for you. Remember power is power which means that usually the bat terminal stays the same its the other 2 wires that count, usually one of them goes back to the warning light in the dash for the charging system, i believe the other one is to energize the field in the alt, but not 100% sure. will get back to you unless someone else post first with a response. Liked the 1 wire chevys with an internal regulator, all you did was hook up power to it and rock and roll. rx7doctor
