electric problem
I have a 79 mazda rx-7 i bought the car from a guy who use to race it. When i got the car the wiring was a mess so i decided to be the smart guy that I am and cut out all the wiring. I got it to run but I cant figure out how I can wire up the alternator. So i was wondering if any of you guys can give me any hints or tips on wiring this up.
Thanks
Thanks
I don't mean to be a smartass, but the best source for that is a manual. There are complete wiring diagrams in the Haynes and FSM books. If you look in the FAQ thread at the top of the 1st gen forum, you'll find a link to some online manuals. There's a link to the 1980 FSM. I know the alternator changed from external to internal reg somewhere around 1980, so the '80 may not have everything you need.
A question: do you have the stock alt in there? Also, there are some threads around here that talk about upgrading to the 2nd gen alt and they may have some clues for you. A quick search should help locate the threads.
Hope this helps.
