what kind of driving will you be doing? mostly spirited weekend driving, or daily driver.

I'd go Koni reds at least, Eibach springs, polyurethene bushings or better, camber plates. Experiment with your rear stock sway bar, disconnected or connected to see which you like best, dont change your front bar until you've tried all these mods and see if it's needed.

Does the car actually better w/o the stock rear sway bar, or are you just blowing smoke up people's asses? I was always under the understanding that the bigger the sway bar the less under stear you are going to have.

Theoretically, yes, less understeer.

But most people have experienced (myself included) snap oversteer under spirited driving with the rear on.

snap oversteer? Sorry Im not familir with that term? So does a bigger sway bar work on our cars, or am I wasting money for one?

You didn't state if you mean front or rear but either way read my previous post and judge for yourself prior to outlaying cash.

How can asking people to test and make their own informed decision be blowing smoke up your ***, that's just a stupid thing to say.

There is two ways to increase your roll resistance, higher spring rate or larger diameter sway bar/s but most informed companies only do one or the other.

If someone sells you a larger rear sway bar for the 1st gen RX-7 then, well, you got suckered.

Do some research the rear suspension is a compromise at best and has several shortcomings. The most severe is that in roll there is bind. When you reach this binding point your rear roll rate goes to infinity and then, well, your rear end takes takes most of the lateral load transfer and the tires can't keep up. This equals snap oversteer.

You can be going around a corner and all of the sudden your rear end decides its time to step it up and try to beat the front end for a change.

In all reality though I suppose getting a larger bar will increase your roll resistance in the rear and that may actually help you prevent the bind issue by not allowing the rear to roll as much.

I still think there are better things to spend money on than a rear sway bar though.

What is the general feeling about springs? Are Eibach the best compared to RB, Suspension Techniques, and stock? My stockers are sagging and I need a set of springs, or maybe just the fronts for now as the rears aren't that bad.

Eibach are very good quality although some consider the spring rate to be pretty severe for street use, I wouldn't use any less for what that's worth.

Most people will tell you RB isn't stiff enough for track use. Suspension Techniques are pretty much on par with Tokico as multi-purpose.

I've seen quite a few setups where people used ground-control coilovers and eibach springs. From what I've heard they're the stiffest and they're probably what I'm going to get.

There are also some Aussie manf. but that's hard to come by here in North America.

My RB front springs are a bit too soft without a larger front sway bar, but they match the Tokico blue shocks well.

Hopefully the RB front sway bar with the RB front springs will help the situation a bit.

Plenty of spirited driving, and then daily driven.

Im willing to sacrafice ride quality for some more fun, but i dont want my *** to be sore from having to stiff of a setup.

Right now I have RB front sway bar, CP racing 4 point strut tower bar, RB coil springs, Tokico struts, and no rear sway bar. Tthe car feels really stiff up front but very agile I really like it over the 20 year old suspension lol...

I don't know how the RB's would be for track use but they seem to be amazing for street use and the stance of the car is awesome...

Is your rear bar just disconected or gone all together?

And do you have any pics of the stance? Because i seem to like the setup you have.

I just got my Ground Control U Weld Coilover kit with 700.250.400 springs and 200#Eibachs for the rear. Got Koni 86r series struts for the front and leaving the Tokico HP's on the rear for now. I will be awhile before I can report on the performance, waiting on camber plates from Billy and I am installing the FC bigbrake conversion as well.

well right now the car is in brutal shape... lol midbody work, I pulled the rear sway bar right out.

Living in Canada is brutal on cars. Right now I don't really have pictures because its kinda embarassing what it looks like... Haha rust sucks, I need to find a mig welder to get started, but thats a different story.

The stance has the front sitting about a inch lower then the rear. It looks really good if you ask me, the handling is also amazing and right now im using shitty winter 175's until the car is painted and I can get some good 205's and real rims. Its a work in progress trust me lol.

I honestly haven't driven it alot yet, because I need a mig welder to weld up my bin rust which I cut out right now... (by the way do you know anywhere in town to rent a mig welder from?)

The ride quality is pretty tight, by no means is it a luxury car. The ride quality is pretty moderate I like the feel of it, unless you are hitting big bumps and pot holes at full speed its decent.

I think that thr RB springs are probably better. They do more research related to rx7s only, not like Eibach, who has to research a million cars. In an rx-7 autocross book I have, they recommend the RB springs
