Unhappy Eh...a lil problem...

Long post so bare with me.

ok, so i spent the night last night at a friend's house and it was cold and raining and i went to start it up and it started fine with the choke pulled and all so i started chuggin away and noticed it was a little bit more sluggish than usual. so i get about 5 minutes away on residential streets and i have to stop at a stop sign. so i depress the clutch and hit the break and the rpms go straight to zero and its dead. i restarted it and it was yet again sluggish to start going and it repeatedly died when i slowed with the clutch depressed. I don't know what is causing this. I got done at the movie tonight and my car sat out in the rain again for a couple hours so i got in started fine acceled fine i even got up to 80 on our main st. and then i go to turn left and i hit a small puddle going like 20 and then i hit the gas and the car like stopped instantly with rpms at 1200 and very slowly rising with me half-throttling it. it suddenly caught again and it took off. very weird. what could be causing this?

also...my e-brake light is coming on at times but the e-brake is not catching or anything. it is just the light coming on...i'm not sure but yesterday afternoon i found one wire sitting underneath the steering shroud completely unconnected and just zip tied places and it looked to have been an attempt to run power from the fuse box to the factory head unit or something similar. so i removed that. then there were these two wires that were behind the stereo console that were jumbled with all these other wires and had several stock speaker looking wires hanging off of them unconnected to others. the two connected wires extended from behind the stereo console to underneath the carpet right in front of the e-brake and seemed to run towards the front of the car...maybe underneath the shifter or possibly anywhere but i couldn't trace it without tearing the carpet apart right there. i cut them out because they were an eyesore and seemed to serve no purpose. are these the wires causing these problems? if so, i can easily replace them.

if you have read this far, thank you for your time. any opinions would be appreciated. i need to figure this out quickly. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

if its related to rain, maybe your spark plug wires are no good, or your distributor cap?...when its running fine, spray water on those parts and see what happens. if it starts running crappy u need some wires or cap

The brake idiot light also indicates low brake fluid level.Check your mastercylinder resevoir. You might have a fluid leak,or its just time to change your brake pads.Could also be a sticky E-brake switch down by the handle.

Rotary spark plugs are very low on the engine and quite exposed because of the open space inside the engine bay.A few splashes of water can easily find their way into the plug wire boots.A cheap easy fix is to buy some dielectric grease and seal up the boots.Just pull each wire off the plug, squeeze a fair amount of dielectric grease into the boot, and reinstall the boot onto the spark plug. The grease will conduct electricity and seal out moisture. Its a good idea to do this on old and new wires as it prevents corrosion and missfiring, especially when you upgrade the ignition.

brake fluid is perfect...may need to change pads. i'm unsure of how to check the pads.

i'm gonna get some new ngk wires but first i'll put the di-electric grease on and see if that helps out...cuz when my car is running fine it is running solid. i think there just had to be a little moisture in there from somewhere.

oh and i've also got the four prong spark plugs from the previous owner...still in real good shape. should i continue using them or is there something wrong with these 4 prongers?
