you can run any EFI. Just use haltech f10 for the injectors.

Going efi on a 12A is a major project. Using a 13B center housing, injectors or even adding more, the throttle body, ecu and a good map. upgraded fuel sysem[pump, lines, regulator] adds up to a considerable budget.

If you are going that far, buying a cheap producti from ebay is asking for potential trouble.

The fundamental question is why go efi in the first place as a carb set up will satisfy 98% of 12A applications. OK it will give you some 10-15% more power and a flater power curve for the same level of porting. But the cost is really not worth it unless you are a flat out racer with a bigport engine. As a basic guideline efi costs 2-3 times the cost of going to a good carb setup such as a Rotaryshack Weber DCOE, Racingbeat Weber IDA or Sterling/Pineapple/Yaw modified Nikki. On a strretport all of these will give you something approaching 200hp, at which time another $2000 looks like a bad investment for another 20hp.

I've been toying with the idea of a TBI (throttle body injection) system on my 12A. I already have a Racing Beat Holley intake manifold and the kit comes with everything else I need. The holley kit I'm talking about runs for about $1200 and promises a lot. It can control spark, but I think it would be fine with stock ignition.

RedlineWeber makes IDA and DCOE throttle body EFI kits. You can find em here. In a thread about these systems, someone chimed in and said that Redline is still working on fuel and spark maps for rotary applications. I don't think they have a date for the maps as of yet. Maybey with a little info and some common sense, you could write your own maps, or use a different ECU like wackyracer suggested. Since there is a few companies that make IDA/DCOE intakes for 12As, you have more off the shelf options.

Do you have a link for the "Nikki replacements" on Ebay? I'd like to see what exactly they are.

Ben

Lets talk TBI! That looks like a nice unit, who makes it? Is that a progressive secondary chain setup? What management system do you recomend using with that? Are those the injector holes on the side? wow.

the TBI system I've been lookin at is the holley unit with the optional race software. I already have the the manifold and a wide band O2 sensor & laptop, so it would be easy to make it work. Here are some links:

looks interesting. the one i pictured will be in the $575 ballpark (price has not been set yet) for the TBI and flows 1200, you cna get the intake from me for $289. and you can pick up an older haltech F9 unit fairly cheap. (a friend just sold his F9-8 for $350) the F9 doesnt control ignition (use your distributor) but has been proven in some of the fastest cars in puerto rico over the years and so have the manifolds i have.
dont have a 12a pictured, but you can see other manifolds at www.KGParts.com/jay-tech.htm
