Sometimes after I pull up to a light from driving I can hear a high pitched whining coming from what sounds to be like the taillight area. It doesn't sound mechanical, it almost sounds like metal resonating. It always lasts a few seconds and then fades out. It is quite bizarre and very befuddling.

Anyone have any ideas?

i hear the same thing also. I think it has to do with the fuel system. It seems to resonate after gettting on the engine pretty good. And if you shut the car off it slowly dies away like residual presure.

Do the SE fuel pumps have a daul voltage thing like the T2 and the 3rd gen?

other wise I am going to try a new fuel cap, and see if it only happens when the tank is low. As I suspect it might.
