ECU Location???

I'm trying to make the connection from the emmission control unit (ECU) to the fuel pump cutoff relay on a 85 (12A carb.)

Two questions:
Where is the ECU?
What input to the ECU triggers the relay output (ground)? Tach input???

Any help would be good.

Gary

if it is shutting off the relay then it is probably bad "the ecu",
just go under the driver side and on the side of the steering column "center counsel side" there is the relay in plain view,
just cut the single trigger wire and your back in buisness

the ecu is under the carpet on the passenger side in front of the passenger seat, closer to the dash

The ECU triggers the relay on three conditions: first 2 seconds of key on, while cranking, and when key is on and it gets a RPM signal, which comes from the trailing ignitor.
