Eccentric shaft w/ pics
this came off of my 84 se and i was wondering about the coloration of the shaft. What does it mean? Do i have to get a new one?
Also, The flywheel end of the shaft, according to the Haynes manual has a blind plug and then a bearing and then an oil seal. I don't remember taking the bearing off or the oil seal i also have pics of the end. Can you tell me if it is ok or not.

I attempted to doa picture yesterday, but it didn't turn out too well. Too bad this forum doesn't allow attatchments anymore.
You'll need to use the img tags and link it to some other website.

e-mail them to me and i will host them. fox.thayer@shaw.ca
Well, first off it appears you are trying to link them off your computer. Can't do that, unless your machine is a server itself. You'll have to goto a free hosting company or buy hosting yourself and upload the pics the server.
Or you can have someone host them for you!

Here's the best that I can do for now. I haven't figured out how to get rid of the space between lines yet. Oh, and the pics need to be very small.

ASCII ART!
Am I the only one other than Jeff who has actually been using computers long enough to remember when that was *cool*?
Bulletin Board Systems (BBSes) made extensive use of ASCII art to make things interesting
Some people were really talented at making some good looking stuff with just coloured characters ^.^

Back then the only thing I really used the computer for was starcraft and chat, and ASCII was used on both all the time.
As for the e-shaft, I wouldn't really worry about the coloring, unless it's really, really colored. You should check all the specs on it, make sure it's still within the tolerances, but it should be fine. Mine was slightly colored, but still right on with all the measurements.
In the flywheel side of the shaft is where the pilot bearing and seal go. If you don't see the bearing, make sure the bearing race still isn't stuck in there, and put in a new bearing and seal.

Um, then no, you don't remember when it was cool, coldy
Starcraft? We're talking Star Fleet Battles days or earlier. When your first exposure to **** was really bad ASCII ****...
I might just be 31, but I still remember some ASCII ****

LoL, Starcraft was just the first online game I really got into, thought more people would recognize it than the others. Before that I played Mechwarrior 1, Test Drive, and One Must Fall 2097, so the only time I was online was when I was on mIRC. I'm only 18, so it's kinda hard to remember all the stuff I was doing when I was that young. But I could run DOS fine when I was 7

YES! LORD, I *so* played that. There was a local BBS that had a really cool Sysop. The guy was smart as hell and had LORD hacked so that same-sex flirting was allowed, and created a few of his own "other places" mods. One was "across the tracks" which was a ghetto-rific mod... Buy "new age" weapons, drugs, girls.. hehe... and it took imagination because it was all text based :P
I have this one game, best damn comp game I ever played, called "Starflight 2: Trade Routes Of The Cloud Nebula" and I've played the original one too. If you play it on anything above a 486 the game goes too fast, and for some reason it totally skips the subroutine where the aliens respond to hails, so you can never communicate with anyone!
Sorry to jack the thread... still waiting for the pics
