Ebiach or Racing Beat coils??
I have been having a hard time deciding what to go with, who can tell me which would be a better coil?
What is it you are looking for (performance-wise)? Are you looking to cruise, race, or what?
Having gone through my own Racing Beat phase, then moved on to coilovers, personally I would advise you to add just a tad more money and go with coilovers. Choose exactly the spring rate you are looking for, and set the ride height exactly where you want it. When I installed the RB springs, they raised my ride height rather than lowering it.
But really it comes down to what you plan on doing with the car. For coilovers, check out www.re-speed.com
Hope this helps.
btw, I lived in Corvallis for a short time a couple of decades ago...

It depends. If you're talking about the Eibach Prokit or Eibach race springs. Assuming you're refering to the Prokit they both drop the car 1" the RB is a more balanced spring rate, but they are soft. Great spring for a daily driver that doesn't go to the track. The Eibach is a firmer rate on the front spring allowing more weight transfer to the rear for more traction on turn exit. I like the Eibach pro kit better, but some people say they're too stiff for the street which is retarded. Stock is 100front /85 lb.in rear The Eibach pro kit is 171/120 the RB rates are 145/110. Now I run coil-overs on my daily driven FB and I run 300/200. Mind you I have a broken back and degenerative spine disease and I don't think my car is too stiff for daily driving, yet people complain about the Eibach pro kit being too stiff. There's a flip side to the Eibach's as it is a progressive spring on the front of the FB. It's nice and soft until the spring compresses enough and it gets stiffer. Some people hate them as some believe progressive springs can be unpredictable. I disagree.
As Kentetsu said buy REspeed coilovers and never look back

My car is a daily driver, don't intend to race or anything. I might occasionaly autocross. All my planned mods are such that I can easily return the car to stock one day. I plan on running the Suspension Technique springs and Tokico blues. Any good word on those?
As Kenetsu & Hyperfomance said it depends on what you plan on doing w/ the car. I've had the Eibach kit on my GSL-SE & thought the ride was very good - progressive springs offer soft when you need it & firm up when pushed harder - just fine for a dd or tearing around some backroads. The one problem I had with the Eibachs was that the front springs flaired out farther than stock springs & rubbed my front tires. When I bought the car it came w/ Borbet 7.5 x 16in. w/ 35mm offset & had 205/50 tires mounted. I have since switched to a coilover setup up front & adjustable spring perch in back & I'm satisfied. Hope this info helps.

I had RB springs and bored with them after about a year or so. One lap through the cones in Kentetsu's car and I was sold on the RE-Speed gear. It's all on my car now waiting for the finishing touches to be completed so I can go drive her.

I've been happy with my RB springs: installed over 10 years ago, still doing the job. I don't race or autocross, though; strictly a street car that gets a little spirited run in now and again. Stiff compared to stock springs, but I like a stiff-sprung car - - I call the wife's sport-tuned sedan the "rolling sofa."
I have Eibach pros on the widebody and RBs on the FC, both have adjustable struts/shocks. I prefer the Eibachs much more. The RBs are too 'thumpy' when it comes to small bumps whereas the Eibach's soak them up. Good luck on finding the Pros, while some places list them for sale, they have been generally NLA for a year or two.
I'll add just a bit more info here. I run the Respeed coilovers on the front, with the adjustable perches on the rear. Spring rates are 275/150. This setup works great for autocross (check out my videos if you get a chance), but I still daily drive the car without issue, even on the torn up Michigan roads.
I even took her down to North Carolina two years in a row for the Deals Gap Rotary Rally. This year I put 2,400 miles on her over the course of 5 days.
So, great performance along with the retention of daily driver friendliness. Can't beat it!
If you think you might try autocrossing, spend a little more up front and avoid having to replace RB stuff down the road when you learn the true limitations of it. That is exactly what I did, started with RB then learned that it just couldn't keep up with the demands of my driving. You have a chance to learn from my mistake (and Orion's)....

I'm in the same boat.....looking to upgrade the suspension, I have a quick question which I think is relevant.
How much affect do the sway bars have....especially when upgrading the spring & shocks?
I have a set of Intrax springs and Tokico Blues F/R. I've wondered if just a set of Poly bushings on the stock bars will help, or do I need aftermarket bars? BTW, I do not intend on racing (often).
If this is a thread jack...my apologies.

Joe, My FB has Tpkico blues and RB springs on all four corners and I love the setup. However, mine is a daily driver and the only racing I do is embarassing kids in hondas on the highway on occassion. I had Eibachs on the front for a time, but they were a bit stiff for the roads I have to drive. Knowing your penchant for upgrading and etc. I'd do the re-speed setup and then you would have the ability to swap springs and adjust your ride if it is too stiff or too soft. Plus I've heard nothing but good things about them.
I have brand new, never used, in the box.... currently UNAVAILABLE FOR SALE NEW ELSEWHERE.... Eibach Pro springs here in Houston... I "might" sell if someone sweet talks me!
Go with ReSpeed. I occasionally autocross, and with 205/50R15 Potenza RE11's (180 treadwear rating), I have to put my Illuminas to full stiff to keep the tires out of the fenders with my RB springs. Not fun. Get yourself some stiffer springs so you can afford to keep your shocks bearable.
