Question eBay muffler questions

I'm checkin' eBay out for a possible new muffler. There's a ton of 'em out there and I'm clueless as to whether or not one for $20 is just as good as a $50 one or a $200 one. Granted, I'm looking the "right now" muffler and not the "right" muffler, so the actual muffler life doesn't matter too much. I think I could afford to get a new one ever year buying the ones that are only $20.

So, does anyone have any experience or suggestions with these seemingly inexpensive mufflers for a 84 GSL that's not ported and probably won't be for a while? I'm also lookin' to get headers and remove the cat too, just FYI.

Thanks!

-Jeff

Well, I really don't care how loud it is because the pre-silencer is already off, and the CAT will be off soon enough too, and with possible headers, it'll be really loud... the tone, on the other hand, well, I'd rather it not sound anything like an annoying, tinny-sounding ricer.

Only ever get racing beat.

If you'd like loud, get a 2nd gen turbo muffler from them or something and have it welded onto your car.

You know, I have seen this in a lot of different threads of how people rave about RB systems. My question is, regarding just the muffler, what makes it better than, say, GReddy or APEXI or some other brand like that? I could care less about brand names (becuase I hate paying for a name when a generic works just as well if not better) I was just using them for comparison.

Thanks again,

Jeff

Rotary exhaust is HOT. Typical mufflers may have a hard time standing up to it.

RB has a time tested and proven design. Their muffler and exhaust system quality is damn tough too. The RB tone is lower and more subdued than most, but you know it's back there when you open the car up. I have the RB dual system- header to tailpipe. I love it.

If you keep an eye out- you can pick them used at a decent price.

honestlyI have a dual muffler setup kinda like the 3rd gens exhaust, and it's pretty ******* loud lol. I really don't mind it cause now I'm not really roumping on it. Driving normally keeps the exhaust quiet, but flooring, fast acceleration doesn't do it.
