The easy way?

I have a hybrid 79SA body, 84FB motor, how can I easily tell wether the old carb was retained or if it is the fb one?

If you have a FB carburetor, the carb would have smaller openings for the primaries:



On the SA carbs, they are a lot larger. I couldn't find a photo readily, so here is what it would look like:
