easiest way to change shutter valve
what do you guys believe is the easiest way to change the shutter valve?? Is it possible to change without pulling the carb?? Also do you guys think this will affect smog with mine plugged instead of working?? I have it plugged right now and it runs fine but i got to pass a CA smog lol..

carb needs to come off, i have no idea why we used to think it was so hard, last time took me under 15 minutes
the valve doesnt directly affect smog (its there to lower cat temps on decel) but if they check it and its bad you fail the visual.

1. Remove carb
2. Remove the shutter "flapper" from the shaft by removing the two small screws that hold it into the shaft. Make damned sure that those screws do not fall into the motor!!!
3. Reinstall the carb.
That way, you can have the benefits of eliminating the shutter valve, but still pass a visual inspection of the emissions system.

awesome! Thanks for the info guys! I was hoping there was a way of removing it without taking the carb off because then i will need to get some new gaskets lol..
