e36 m3 dual duty or fb rx-7dedicated track car?
Currently the rx-7 is my daily beater (my first love since highschool) while I finish school (m3 garage queen for now). Money is somewhat of an issue but costs would probably be equal ($3K for the m3 would get me c/o's and set of track wheels and tires vs $3K for rx-7 would get me an all out modded engine and suspension. Which would you do and why? Try not to be biased. Thanks.

rx7 dedicated track car. you can go ***** nillly on suspension and driveline, even gut and put a cage in. At first try to keep the 7 street legal so you can drive to the track. have a buddy bring up spare tires to the track or get a little tire carrier trailer.
consider tow vehicle and trailer when you get serious.
been there, done that!

How hard is it for you cali guys to get smogged? I drive the straight pipe, smoke blowin machine around all day with no probs (no emission testin
)
M3 should be bumped up to the daily drive and the 7 should be modded to a somewhat "street legal" beast setup. $3k for tires/ rims would never come into mind, unless you had too much torque and break cheaps rims straight off the spokes.
