e-brake light staying on

for a while when i would turn a little harder than normal my ebrake light in the dash would come on then go back off after a few seconds, now it wont shut off at all. i assume its just the switch sticking but where is it at, right under the boot somewhere? and that would explain it if it went for the cornering that also set it off. any help guys?

It is a simple circuit. Check the fluid level in the master, top up if need be. If okay, then the powered wire to the float level is shorting to ground.

I had the exact same problem, but in my case it was just the fluid level.

You guys should know that if the fluid level is low in the master cylinder, it usually indicates another problem.
I stupidly topped off my master cylinder reservoir one time, and found out a month or so later that it was low because all the fluid was in the calipers (or had been). The combination of worn pads/rotor actually let the piston pop right out of the caliper leaving me with no brakes.

Luckily I was bright enough to catch the E-brake just in time, as I was heading towards a high speed intersection and likely could have been seriously injured if not killed. If your brake fluid ever needs topping up I suggest checking your brakes to see why first. You could save yourself a serious headache. Trust me.

Goto this link (a PDF file wiring diagram). Go to where it says 18 of 37 at the bottom. That page will show the three things that will complete the circuit to ground for the light; the brake light warning checker, the fluid level sensor, and the parking brake switch. They are all in a parallel circuit. It would just about have to be one of them.
