3" inlet makes for a LOUD n/a rotary but with a turbo to help quiet things down you might look at a magnaflow muffler. They can take the heat, yes really, and are reasonably priced in their aluminized steel line.

I wouldn't reccomend using a muffler to split a single 3" into a dual outlet. Mufflers usually do a poor job at that. Putting a PaceSetter 3" inlet dual tip outlet on there will do the job and these tips have resonaters in them as well that help quiet it down some as well.

the most free flowing , quietest muffler on the market is the Racing Beat muffler for the 3 rd gen. its expensive at a pricetag of $500.00!!!...its a 3" inlet with either a 3" outlet or dual tip outlets

check it out here..

I'm not too worried about noise,I just like the way dual tips look on a first gen..I like the RB muffler but 5 bills is alittle ridiculous..I already have a JUN muffler I paid close to that for about 2 years ago sitting in my garage, it was for my galant VR4 though..Is a magnaflow straight thru??I saw some pics and it looked like it had baffles..I can but my own tips and weld them thats fine but I just want a good muffler thats straight thru and stainless is a plus..How about resonated tips??Know of any nice ones other then pacesetter??I kind of despise pacesetter actually ,never liked their products..

Magnaflow has many straight thru mufflers, and a few with offset pipes. Very good for rotary.

Pacesetter headers and mufflers I wouldn't buy. Their resonated tips work well! ! ! ! !

flowmaster = no flow. I would not buy. the magna flow is very good but call their 800 customer service line to find out what ones/models have a higher heat rating but do not tell them your using it on a rotary or you will get a standard they are rated at 800 degrees and not for rotary use. dynomax mufflers are good also and can take the heat. they have a couple of 3in in dual outlet ones and priced well SS also around 100 dollars

Racing Beat Powerpulse double-pipe muffler. Just a hint louder than stock muffler, and has a great look.

I used a Magnaflow 6" round model. 2.5" inlet outlet straight thru. More flow than Racing Beat. More noise too. Tough to talk @ 80mph, drone. I'd add a tip or Supertrapp end cap on the end to quiet it down more.

It took the heat just fine. Over 6 weekends @ the track hot-lapping @ 8800rpm shiftit plus 2 years of daily driving. Never melted or changed tone.

I'm redoing my whole exhaust (or complete lackthereof) today.

Took it down to a shop to run a manifold back pipe, to a single inlet/single outlet turbo muffler. He designed some weird after muffler section - explaining how it couldn't just be a Y......but, its all the same price, so whatever.

Got some nice 3 1/2" tips to fill up my huge rear valence dual exhaust holes......

Now, just gotta hope it sounds good.

Oh yeah, and I took the rear wing off, I'll post pics later.

don't overlook Walker (the people that make Dynomax) they make some pretty strong mufflers as well and they are quiet as long as you have a good presilencer.

Using a muffler as a collector to split 1 pipe into 2 is not the most effecient way to do it. A Y-pipe works much better.
