Dual alternator belt Pulley?

Since I'm a complete idiot in knowing mechanics, is this :

all I am supposed to get from the rotorhead.ca website?

I don't need an extra belt? I just take the belts from the alternator and the water pump and put it on that one or something? I'm going to put my full RB Exhaust system on my car tomorrow and I guess I'll remove the air pump and put on the dual alternator pulley at the same time..

So does anybody know how to remove the air pump and install the dual alternator pulley?

Thanks a lot!

P.S. For those of you wondering, yea it's a foosball table in the background of the picture

You bought a pulley. It's by no means a 'kit' - you have to buy another alternator belt, but any auto supply store should have one. The belt going to your air pump is a different length.

I just put the pulley on my car today. I bought it from a friend who got it from mazdatrix. I'm taking out my a/c tomorrow, so we chopped the a/c belt, and from there it was easy. You'll most likely need an impact wrench to get the damn alt pulley off (the one that's on there now), so take it to AutoZone or Advanced Auto. They'll most likely do it for free. I went to Advanced. I pulled the alt before and just went in with the alt and the new pulley, and they did everything. No charge. Make sure you buy your belts from the same place, as I've heard of people getting belts from different places claiming the same length, but it's been different. Also, it's easier to set the alt in place but not screw it in anywhere yet, then put the belts on, then raise it up a little and screw it in. Oh yeah, and you should be able to do it without taking off the fan if you have the fan shroud off. That's if you don't have a/c though. Good luck, e-mail me if you have any questions, as I just put on my exhaust last weekend and did my dual belt pulley today.

I would buy 2 new belts..cause they tend to stretch a little..and I always buy belts for the alt just a little shorter than stock.

..................

First gen and second gen alt pulleys are the same diameter for the shaft..FD pullies are diffrent

Well, the pulley doesn't really add power. It makes it so your belts don't slip at higher RPMS. Before I put it on, my belts would slip at 4,500+. Now nothing squeaks. As for the exhaust difference...WOW. It's amazing. It feels a lot more powerful and responsive. After you take off the air pump you'll hear your belts slipping at higher RPMs most likely, so just put on the dual belt pulley and you should be set.

Nope - mine is made specifically for the 1st & 2nd gen RX-7 (right diameter, etc), and is cheaper than the similar Racing Beat one.

As I said, the ones listed on rotorhead.ca are similar. As in same diameter, and designed for the 1st and 2nd gen. They are. If someone buys a pulley designed for a Subaru or Mitsubishi, it might not be the right diameter, the grooves might be a different width, the mounting hole might not fit the alternator shaft, etc.

For about 33% of the price of the RB unit most people are happy with cadmium coated steel. Going to aluminum on an item this small saves maybe a pound but costs three times as much.

No need for confrontational stuff like 'It's not the same, and I know you remember the thread'. Guess what? I don't. Two or three months is a long time. See my post count? I read and respond to a LOT of threads on here.
