Drum not fitting!

I replaced my brake shoes, (both sides), and i adjusted the one and got the drum on and its all good, but i can not get the other one on for the life of me!

Take the drum off of the other side and compare the two. You may have made an error is reassembly.

Make sure the brake is released and that the adjuster is not holding the brakes out too far. Occasionally the wheel cylinder will not allow the brake to go all the way back, especially if it has been a while since the brakes have been replaced.

Some times no matter what you do it won't go on so get out some sand paper and sand the shoes until they are slim enough for it to go on. Or you can just beat it with a hammer till it goes on, that works sometimes

are u only adjusting the adjuster bar?
if so, i think on the 79 there are 2 cams on the bottom of the shoes that you can adjust from the backing plate to retract the lower end of teh shoes
if you already are, ignore this please

i ended up taking both sides apart, switching parts and leaving others and it worked. so i donno, but thanks everyone!
