Driveshaft Question

How do you remove the front of the drive shaft on a 83, gs, manual. There are no bolts or anything. It has a shroud type fixture. Thanks in advance

remove the 4 bolts holding the rear of the driveshaft to the pinion flange... then pull.

^Inside the shroud is a splined shaft that slides into the rear of the transmission. As mentioned above, just remove the four bolts at the rear of the drive shaft. Pry the flanges apart enough to drop the rear end of the drive shaft and the front end will slide right out. Be aware that tranny fluid will leak out unless you drain it first.
