Drilling FB hubs/rotors to change bolt pattern

I've been looking at all the options available to change bolt spacing on the FB to accommodate a better selection of rims. FC subframe swap, FC hub swap, GSL SE suspension swap , adapters etc. Drilling seems by far the cheapest and easiest option. Who here has done this before? Want to get the pros and cons sorted before I head down this road.

You can do adapters from 4x110 to 4x100 but you'll be doing wheel bearings more often. I don't think anyone has just taken the 4x110 parts and drilled them out to 4x114.3 or 4x100 but I may be wrong.

I hate the 4x110 bolt pattern too, you're not alone.

On the FAcebook 1st Gen page there's a guy selling drilled hubs and the group discussion seems to be that it's been done before and it's a simple fix

Save your money be patient and either keep looking for 4x110 wheels or save money and switch to 4x114.3 (gslse) like I did. I spent 150.00 for gslse rear end and 200.00 on calipers with brackets and rotors for my 84 gs, patience is a virtue, people always rush, make bad decisions which they regret later on and ends up costing more in the long run.
Funny thing is when I switched I found all kinds of wheels in 4x110 that friends of mine had, is what it is though lol

Thanks Rotaryjunkee, I'm in BC, Canada and finding a GSL SE suspension setup locally is next to impossible. Been exploring that route since I first got my 83 and shipping from the States to BC is ridiculously expensive. I'll keep on looking though

I'd be worried about messing with the 12A rotors (and drums if you have them) since they were engineered for the 4 x 110 pattern. Changing that pattern is likely to put stresses in places they weren't meant to be.

So I second RJ's suggestion, search for aftermarket 4 x 110 wheels or search for the SE suspension.

This set was advertised last September, very pretty classic Riken 15" wheels for only $500 and they were located in BC. Probably gone now (but I'd contact him, you never know).

As for SE suspensions, true there aren't many up there, but I'll bet most that are in BC have terminal rust issues, making them ideal candidates for the suspension swap.
