DragWars

Hi everyone!

I went ot the Dragstrip yesterday.
It was my shakedown run.

5600 feet above sea level. 102 degree outside temp ,20mph head wind.the track also has a incline @ 990 feet

The result was a 17.4 @78.125 mph
Second was a 17.2 @ 79.375 mph

I took 2nd place in my class!

So now,its back to tuning, and a new ,better designed exhaust.

Goood one I thought I was the only 17 second car here LOL. My best was a 16.4 at 60 feet above sea level you car seems pretty strong !

What was your 60foot? Rt? Thanks!

BTW have u put a wide band O2 on your car to see where your a/f is? My Gsl-se was leaning out on the top end I have sense removed the Air pump (it was almost locked up) and added a honda civic Fuel pressure reg and raised my fuel pressure about 6 psi over stock.

Good luck! congrats! (too cold here to race )

me getting numbers like those are the reason i turned to autoxing. no matter how much faith you have in a particular car, 17's are slow. my first time at the track i did a 18.1 best that night, second time, after learning manual a little better, and getting a exhaust system, i was down to 16.1, but even 16.1 is nothing to brag about in my opinion.

Good start karism!

Speed speed money are all relative onepointone. Some like dodging cones for 60 seconds at a time and waiting 4 hours then stand and pick up cones for another hour.

I prefer to drive road courses 120+MPH for 20 minutes at a time, 4 times a day.

Thank you for the kind words!
Nope,i`am not running a AFR yet,but will be in the near future.

Tuning is the key,but i did it as well as i could with my ear.

2.25" exhaust is my death at the moment ,and then a IDA will also be needed.

Work in Progress,i`am very excited to see the outcome when all is done

Cheers!

Karis
