double gasketing

is using the rebuild gaskets on the carb spacer bad? since it would be double layered

On the phenolic spacer between the carb and intake mani? Gasket isn't even needed unless the old one is damaged, which rarely happens.

i did it and it made a vac. leak. so i say no.

i did it and didnt have a vacuum leak, however it probably wasnt the smartest thing ive ever done.
