Dont know what to do with a 13b-REW

Short story, engine was pulled from a dudes FD that was totaled in a rear end accident. Aftermarket turbo, ecu, injectors, intercooler. I'm still waiting to make an offer because he's getting a divorce. I've been researching and im not entirely convinced its going to be worth it for a "swap". Its not like I can build an engine with the parts from it eaither, and its starting to make me feel like its a terrible waste and a good opportunity, but the list of stuff i have to have is endless. the main convern is a tranny to mate to it, I would like to keep the fd clutch so.. I dont know now.

Tell me what you guys think, I can do hard work and weld, thats not the problem. Its just passing up on mabye a really good deal..

I say go all the way. It is a lot of fun to have big power in a small light car. It will be expensive and challanging though. I paid someone to do mine so I didnt have to deal with all the unknowns but lots of guys have done the conversion them selfs.

Take the Deal!!! Get it all in one fell swoop - it's worth it.
Just Use a TII Tranny instead of the FD one. It's all good.

I would do it if i had the money. Check out directfreaks videos. Then you'll want one.

I've checked out directfreak before dude haha. He should be my father... Anyway, I guess I'll go along with it when I can give him an offer, I hope I can offer enough while being a cheap skate haha. The only thing Im worried about is the stock steering if i mount the engine using the fd mount points.

modified85, are you the dude that had videos a long time ago after the install? I love that vid.

If you do it, get the tranny with the package and make a custom mount and drive shaft for it. As for the price I paid 1,500 for the trany, engine, and every thing to make it run.

Good luck,
Kevin

If you do it go with a T2 tranny as stated above. If you want to make custom mounts then go with the REW. If you have any more questions feel free to message me.

How much are we talking for a good deal for the stuff. That will depend on how good of a deal it is.. If you can't afford to do it just pass on it. It's not cheap to do the entire swap the right way..

It would be an amazing swap. I think there are better options out there for a swap, but it all comes down to finances. If you don't know if you will have enough money to do the swap, then go with a different swap (TII or Cosmo swap).
