Question It don’t float my Boat

Has anyone ever noticed that when setting the float levels 79 carb that the Haynes manual says to invert the horn and measure 16mm from the lowest part of the float and a picture shows the measurement being taken toward the back of the float which is lower then say the front of float? If you have the MAZDA factory manual it also says, set the float to 16mm but the drawing clearly shows the measurement being taken from the front –tip of the float. Depending on which part of the float you use the settings would be different... Has anyone ever noticed this? I am going to use the factory manual diagram. It just seems strange two different measurements.
