Does anyone know if RX8 subframes will work?

I recently bought a 79 RX7 SA to restore and make it a fun weekend car. Does anyone know if the front and rear RX8 subframes will fit?

I've never seen anyone do it, but it would not be a bolt-in. It will require a lot of custom fab. You might check the dimensions of both cars and go from there.

My friend Mike is doing this in his 7 currently. He has literally cut the front of the car off at the strut towers but has successfully mounted the front suspension in the car. A lot of fab work to do it and Mike is an amazing metal guy. Here are a couple of his pictures of his progress:

The subframe sits a lot higher in the chassis so you would need to do a lot of tub surgery.

The FC subframe also needs tub surgery to get it high enough to handle well. I have seen only one person do this, though.

Thanks for the info and the pictures. Now I will rethink my approach. I do not have the ability to do that work nor did I find someone that would be able to do it for me.
