Looks pretty funky to me... WAY too tall, WAY too short... Check out the one at CP Racing... MUCH nicer... :-)

I don't think it matches the car at all.

It would be great if you are going for function over form here, but it definately doesn't look like it belongs there. Mabey it will look better when installed about an inch lower, but I just can't picture it. It your call really. I would take it just because it will perform like no other scoop I know of.

I dont like it at all. If I were you, I'd get a front mount intercooler and just leave the hood alone.

It may be functional. However I think its too extreme for a stock looking car. I say ace it till they visit mariah motor sports and get a wide body kit or something.

I don't even like it on the STI. Just too tall and just bad looking. Kind of like a wart. I would rather see the regular WRX one. It is shorter and has better lines.

Looks unproportional. Either it's not long enough or it's too tall. Still, I'm sure it works pretty well.

or this one!!! I think you'd have to get the rest of the body kit to make it work, but damn!!!

My point is there are many other options that don't look as fugly as the one you're seriously contemplating doing.

ITS UGLY!!!

That one pictured in the car domain site is just plain drop-dead gorgeous. That has gotta be the best looking scoop I have ever seen on a 1st gen. Looks like it was meant to be there..

The one your thinking about? Nah. Too much for the car. It needs softer lines to look right IMO. 1st gens have great curves and a distinctly classic sports-car look. On the other hand a WRX is, after all, simply an Impreza possesed by a demon. Add-ons like the big scoop actually helps to detract from the Impreza's inherent econo-box styling. However, the 1st gens were blessed with style right off the factory line. Just my .02 cents.

Starting with Metallic_rock's flip paint RX-7 above....
  • No, that's just as clunky and hideous as what he's considering...
  • That looks fantastic...a real winner...
  • Dear God, no, that's a mini Pro-Stock scoop and looks absolutely stupid on these cars unless you've tubbed the rear and are running 165's up front and at least 305's out back all tucked under the stock fenderwells...
  • Tom has already admitted not having a clue, so ignore his $.02....

This is my scoop it is a 300zx scoop cut down to fit. It is fully functional and I think its look nice in there. If you can't see it, because it kinda blends it, it is right over the carb (duh)
