Do I need hot start assist?

I personally don't think I need it but I could be missing something. I just put an 82 carb on my 83 and the only problem is the connection plate is too small for my hot start asist cable to fit. thought about grinding it out but right now I don't care.

Any thoughts? or experiences?

you do not need it, you wont even notice its gone

if its giving you trouble (or even just looking at you funny) tear it out and throw it away

Get rid of it. Makes no difference. As long as the engine is still warm I can turn the key on mine giving it no gas and it starts right up no problems. Its one of the many useless things on our cars that can be ditched.

yeah, all it does is pull the throttle linkage slightly when you're cranking the key.... I think you can do that with your foot
