Do I have a stock port 12a?
Dearest Gurus of rotary sound, most exalted. Oooooh you are so big, so absolutely huge.
Can anyone take a listen to this fully warm engine clip and tell me if you think its a stock port or otherwise ported? It has stock carb choke removed, stock intake, K&N, stock manifold and cheap exaust (one cat probably gutted), air pump and AC delete. It does 0-60 in 7.5 seconds with a 4.44 rear gear.
Thanks in advance.

I would expect a little more 'BRAP!' than what that sounds like, but the video cuts out right when I'd expect to hear some engine revving. With the cat hollowed out, it's going to sound much louder, and depending on who made the muffler (*because those tips don't look stock), that could account for the extra noise, as well.
On the performance (speed) end of things, the 4.44 gears would help with the O-60 time, even without any porting of the engine. In the end, my guess is that it's probably a stock engine port configuration. You could remove the exhaust manifold and take a look at the exhaust ports to see if they've been modified. Most engine builders that would port the intakes would also port the exhaust while the work is being done, and the intake won't really shine unless you do the exhaust as well.

Thanks, ya my phone cut out before a good rev and the resulting backfires. It doesn't shoot fire but it pops anywhere from a paper bag to a shotgun all day long. It shakes quite a bit at 180km/hr but gets to 170 quite nicely in 4th which is plenty for me. Header and slightly modded intake are next on the list... And on the way. The drivers door handle (broke yesterday), stereo head unit, wide band, and a visit to a car wash diy paint booth for plastidip will finish the job... Someday. Then I'll be happy. With any luck it will be leak free, fully working, looking good even to people who aren't into old cars and able to out run an automatic brz/frs/86 or current automatic miata in both a straight line and in the turns. Life goals.
