DLIDFIS question

I just bought two MSD Blaster 2 coils to start DLIDFIS install on my '83 12A. I had converted the leading ignition to an HEI iginitor awhile back, so I plan to add a 2nd HEI ignitor. I'll make a new wiring harness for the leading ignition with a fuse and relay to provide battery power to the coils. I plan to leave the trailing ignition as-is.

My first question is, with the ignitor connection removed from the stock leading coil, and the wire from the distributor to the leading coil removed, can I just leave all the other wires connected to the stock coil without causing any problems?

Second quesion is can I connect the relay to the positive terminal on the stock leading coil so the relay turns on when the ignition switch is turned on?

Thanks - David

Search DLIDFIS or Jeff20B's threads. He's the inventor and has threads with diagrams, detailed instructions/explanations, etc.

I want to see some pics of several people's install. A couple I've seen look like hammered dogshit. I'm sure they work just fine, but I got to have a clean OE or custom look or it ain't happening. If cleanliness is next to Godliness, then there's some of us going to hell.

I read Jeff20B's write up on DLIDFIS, and several other posts about it, before I posted the questions above. Really, they're more about the coil and ignition switch power source than they are about DLIDFIS.

I agree with you-- it should look good or it shouldn't be on the car. I'll post pictures when I get through.
