DLIDFIS question

I'm looking at the DLIDFIS site, specifically the wiring diagram.

Does this use three sparkplugs? I've skimmed the text to try and determine what exactly to hook up to both of the leading coils...

I'm stumped.

After reading it several times (correct me if I'm wrong) there are 3 coils (2 leading and 1 trailing) and 3 ignitors (2 for leading and 1 for trailing) and you connect the 2 leading plugs in your engine to the 2 leading coils. *shrug*... I'll read it again.. and again and again...

I'm also cutting in on this thread because I have some questions myself.

Jeff20B... I have 85 GSL-SE (hamster maby you can provide some insight here) and would like to try this. I have read (I think) everything there is out there and searched this fourm and read EVERYTHING on the DLIDFIS. I was wondering do I need to hit junkyards till I find a leading coil from an SE? or could I use the leading coil from the 85 GSL (or maby it's a GS... I donno) that is sitting dead in my driveway? It's getting a TII motor so woln't need the coils anyways. And is there any positive way to tell a leading from a trailing, whats the difference?.

I would also LOVE and I mean LOVE to see a bunch of pictures on how this is setup... if there are none out there someone PLEEZE take as many pictures of what you have and have done... and I *WILL* document and take pictures when I do it (probally this weekend if I can find all the parts).

Also... I plan on taking my pully off and marking it so I can mess w/ timings... but I need to know if anyone has any writeups to setting timing? Yes I'm new to all this but I'm VERY mechanicaly inclined, and a REALLY quick learner.

Yep, that's all there is to it. And if you really wanna see some pics I'll try to get some up later today.

Good deal!... I'll tell you what.. You try and provide as much visual reference that you can and I'll chart and document all that I do and w/ that.... I'll either give all the info raw or maby between all of us we can create a good documented writeup!

All I need to know now is if that extra leading coil I have will work or if I need to hit a junkyard to try and find an extra SE leading coil. Wouldn't mind knowing if there is any place I can get the J109 ignitors besides junkyard... (not that I have a prob w/ junk yards hehe)

The more pics the better Thanks in advance...

If I am not mistaking the coils are all the same and if not, it still does work, im using some non SE coils,

if you dont want to go the scrap yards you can always order them from victoria british for the modest sum of ~160us$

the scraps would be wise, all you need to remove them is a phillips screwdriver...

There is zero difference in Leading and Trailing coils in 81-85 RX-7s. So in other words, it's fine to use a Trailing coil out of your dead 7 if you wanted to.

Just so all you guys know, I don't own an RX-7 and I haven't hooked up DLIDFIS in any yet so your guess is as good as mine as to where to put the 3rd coil and ignitors. Currently, I'm messing around with possibillities as to where I could mount the ignitor plate in my Cosmo, but there's no rush, so it's not going as quickly as I had hoped. I've already mounted the 3rd coil, but there is no room to mount two ignitors where I had hoped to put them.

I'll take some pics and put them on my web page.
