distributor hook up

Im wondering does it matter which coil is leading or trailing? I noticed the other day that my coil closest to the front of the car is on the trailing and the other is on the leading, i am having trouble trying to time the car and was wondering if this is backwards?

i doubt it matters provided the coil to cap is right. my trailing coil is the rear one.

Trailing coil should always be in front. Mazda did this to keep the coil to cap wires from having to cross over each other. Look at the wire positions on the cap. Makes sense. Why would you change it? Ever had leaky wires? Mazda was smart when they put trailing in front, and so are you if you keep it that way. .
