Disc-Brake Rear End

Some UPS guy stopped at my house today and offered me a disc-brake rear end for $75. He said I would just have to do a couple things for it to work. I think he said it was from an 82. Do you guys think its worth it and is it a lot of work?

Assuming it would be installed on the 84 mentioned in your profile then it will require a different driveshaft. Not a hard swap, but now you're looking at more than $75. The brake master cylinder also has to be swapped. If you really want to swap to a GSL rear end I would look for a 84/85 one, as it has the right driveshaft yoke, and also bigger axles.

Get it. You can swap the yokes if need be. Remember that alot of these cars have had parts swapped out. It might or might not be what he says it is. But get the drivesaft too if he has it.

$75 is not to bad of a price. its not to hard of a swap, just plan on taking the day off. its not a swap you want to accomplish when you have work to go to in like 3 hours.
