Disc Brake owners please reply..

Can any of you guys still power brake?

I love the drum set up so I can power brake at the track,BUT I cant find a dam 84/85 LSD to put in,I can get pre 84 LSD all day,BUT now cant find drum set ups,Let me know if you can still power brake them,If so I guess I would just go to the disc set up,

Or how much do you think it will take to brake nice thick welds on the spider gears

welding the spider gears wont work, for long!! get the 84-85 rear end! drum or disk they have the same size axles! get a LSD from a GSL or GSL-SE model, used the go for around $150.00 and there is pleanty around!

Install a line lock if you really want to be able to spin them at the track. Then you'll have the benefit of having disc brakes yet be able to haze the hides whenever your heart desires.

i have an 84 gsl rear end in my 85gs. i can power brake just fine. i think the main reason is the owner before me that did the rear end swap didnt change out the master cylinder. it seems to catch a little harder in the front than it should.

I know this may sound stupid, but how do you power brake with a 5 speed? I don't have any idea on how to do it.

Thanks,
Chris

I want to know FORSURE if you can power brake with a disc set up,If so,I would get a SE LSD,but I cannot find them here,If you cannot power brake a disc set up,then I would stay with the drum set up and throw a SE LSD,I know 84/85 are the best for the first gen fatter axels,

I need to figure out something soon,I got a guy who wants to buy my diffrentual. The stock GS one..
