The disc brake covers...

... on my GSL rear-end are bent pretty badly. Thanks, DHL... You *******.

Anyway, I can't remove them, because they are attached to the axles. I don't know if I can pound them out with a hammer. Can I just kinda cut them off? I know they hold the axles in the rear-end, but what if I just trim off the rest? Will that affect anything? I'm assuming they are there for a reason, but just how necessary are they?

Keep them. Take your time and hammer them back out, good practice for future body work. They do help keep the discs clean and aid in cooling.

Well, I hammered them enough that the discs rotate freely with good clearance.

They look like **** though.

yea I agree, try to keep as much as you can on there. Mine were pretty rusty, and I had to trim a little bit here and there, but they are still pretty much in tact. and yes there's *always* a fender that needs repair, at least here...

Yeah, the body on my GTUs will need some work.

The fucked up fender on my FB already has a replacement in the basement.
