Disasterous Setback.... Help!

Disasterous Setback.... Help!
Hey Guys,
So I continued work in my engine bay, hoping that I could start putting things back together and have it finished by mid-week. I was kinda planning a trip to NY this weekend upcoming to see a friend (and another trip to NY next weekend to tune my carb), but DISASTER struck.
The old Beehive has been the biggest pain of anything in my engine bay. The last nut took forever to remove (though amazingly I did get it off without stripping, mangling or cutting it), and so the only thing left holding the old beehive in place was the metal tube going to the front of the engine.
Now I knew it would be nearly impossible to slip something down to un-do it from the beehive side, so I decided to unbolt it from the engine side.
What I didn't realize was that the tube had siezed to the locking nut so badly, that turning the locking nut turned part of the tube.
The tube was exceptionally weak, and without even realizing, I bent it 180 degrees!
So, realizing the mistake I cut my losses and just cut the damned thing out. It got the beehive out in a hurry, but now I've gotta source a tube, and there's no local supplier (junkyards just don't have 'em here).
So now I desperately need to find a replacement for that tube, so that I can finish this project and get the car back on the road by the end of the week! I've only got this week off from work (I took a week's vacation with hopes of working on the car... even the weather is against me, it has rained yesterday and today, and is supposed to tomorrow again!).
Help guys. I'll pay to overnight expresspost it from wherever you are, I just need that tube!

I might have one in my garage left over from my parts car. You should be able to find one at a local wrecking yard though. Otherwise, you might be able to get a hose fabbed up at a local hydraulics shop, especially if you still have the ends and they are useable. Good luck man. I'll take a look in my garage when I get home in the morning, just in case...

Jon, looks like I have another part to powdercoat for you. I have a spare, which coating do you want? My 2nd Magnaflow showed up today, so the rest of your parts are getting put off till Sunday. Going to run the 3" exhaust before the BBQ. Your powder came in too.
You should be able to pick up your parts by the 5/6 th of May if I can get them shipped by Tuesday.

Jon has openly admitted that the powdercoat bug has bitten him hard. I expect that one day he wil run out of parts in his bay to coat. He even had me coat some parts that I didn't in mine, now I will have to do those in mine just to stay ahead of him.

I just took it off the front cover, man it was a pain to get it off without bending it or anything, anyways heres some pics of it, I'm not too far from you so i'm sure shipping shouldn't be too much. let me know

Matty, that's perfect. And it doesn't have to cross the boarder. PMing you for shipping.
Trochoid, don't worry about it. It's an "on the engine" part, and since Matty's got one locally, just hold off on that. Yes I caught the powdercoating bug, but when I do the engine (and everything else attached to it) I'm switching to front mount.

I love this forum.
I screw up, and within an hour, I've got two offers for the pipe, one on this side of the boarder just a few hrs away, and one of my favorite powdercoaters (Rx7Carl does lots of intricate intake stuff ) is one step ahead of me
You guys rock.

Jon, on the off chance it doesn't get here in time, you could go out to Princess Auto on Hawthorne Rd (near Walkley and Russell) and they make hydraulic line while you wait.
Just giving you a temporary option "just in case"

Princess auto can do lines for the front mount oil cooler because they don't stock metric fittings. You'll have to find a local hydraulic shop, when the time comes.

Lol, thanks edwin, but not yet.
When the time comes, I plan to have a 2nd Gen oil cooler with my new engine next year. For now, I have trochoid's old beehive, which happens to be powdercoated a similar colour to the powder that's going to be on the carb/airbox, so I'm fine with leaving the beehive on there for one more year. I've already got the new o-rings for it and whatnot, I don't want to add any more complexity to this side project for now.
Thanks for the offer though.

Flange wrench is sometimes also called a Flare nut or Line wrench. It looks like an open end wrench, but is closed over almost all the way around. You can just slide something like a brake line through the slot. It will get things undone about 80% of a full box end wrench (which you can get over a line anyway), and 100% better than an open end wrench. You can get a set at Princess Auto for anywhere from 9 - 16 bucks. They are really handy.

Yeah, but that still won't keep the line from turning with the nut... They do help a lot with brake lines and stuff like that, where you can't get a full box end wrench over it due to an obstruction of some kind, but only as far as stripping the nut goes. If the line tries to turn with the nut, I don't know of much you could do other than heat the nut up and risk melting something.

Jon, don't waste your time with that stuff. Go for P.B. Blaster instead. I tried it for the first time several years ago and never looked back. The stuff really is that good...
