Different types of Clutchs

Hey guys,

I'm just about to swap out my clutch from my 1982 Mazda rx7 GSL. I was wondering what different clutches do you guys recommend and have you used in the past. Thanks

It really just depends on the driving you do... The RB Street/Strip clutch is a good quality one.

I put a brand new stock replacement in my car after blowing the original 160 K Km clutch down at deal's gap. It lasted about 4 months (Made in China, what did I expect) I then replaced it with an ACT 6-puck cerametallic sprung hub disc, part #6224205. I'm still using the Chine made stock replacement pressure plate for now, but I'll end up upgrading that after the engine rebuild this year, I think. So far the 6-puck clutch is only a little grabby, but not unstreetable, and will support furthur power mods.

The Racing Beat (Clutchnet) clutch discs just do not last at all. Not as a daily driver in a hilly area, anyway.

I'm currently using a Centerforce Dual-Friction setup, and I really like it. Drives better than the Racing Beat street/strip setup, but it's still grabs hard when I need it to. Held the power of my old supercharged setup just fine, we'll find out soon how it holds up to a blow-through turbo 13B.
