Differences between SA and FB doors and fenders

A few weeks back I stripped a SA that a guy was sending to the junker, and got both doors, drivers front fender, and a bunch of other stuff (don't ask how much, I got taken and i'm not very happy now). What I was wondering is, in the BDA cataloges there is a difference between SA and FB doors and fenders. What is the difference? I havn't put them side-by-side yet, but from the looks of the SA parts there is no difference.

As far as I know, the only real diferences in the doors, is how/where the door panels attach. Not all the mounting holes are in the same place. The mirror mounting holes may be slightly different too.

The character line running along the door skin is different on the SA compared to the FB. Fenders are completely different, with the old character line plus notches for the SA style bumpers.

The part under the black rubber from the bumper is different. it would look strange on an FB and I dont think the holes are in the fender where it attaches to bumper on the FB.

I thought the lines on the fender, and door are the same, but the moldings are different, and mounted in different places.I do agree the fenders are different though.

The character line on all '79-85 RX-7s is the same, IIRC. Just the mouldings, the rear fascia and the bumpers changed from year to year.

No, Matt, they aren't. As I've said before, the character line on the SA is a > groove - look at the side of your car. The character line of the 81 and up bodies with the new bumpers is more like an L . it comes down then, near the bottom, darts back out to the surface.

Park your SA next to Carmen tomorrow - I'll show ya.

damn...that sucks. Oh well, this door and fender is to get rid of my dented/rusted fender and door, so even if it's a little off, it'll be a good temp. fix.
