figured out one of my starting problems

I was working on my 7 last night, trying, in vain, to get the dizzy out of the block. The F*CKING thing wont' budge! I tapped the bottom of it with a hammer, climbed into the engine bay, one foot on block, the other on the strut tower, and tried to squat it out. No luck. No clue why it won't come out. So I said F*ck it! I replaced my plugs (old ones were fouled and missing insulator) and tried to start her up. NOTHING. the starter spun and spun and spun but she wouldn't fire. I tred for almost 10 minutes and she didn't fire. I got frustrated and went and grabbed my little bro's deep cycle trolling motor battery. 550 CCA, 650 CA. ~15 seconds of turning and she started right up! HUGE smoke screen becasue I havn't had her running in 3 weeks. moved her up to the garage, put my battery back in (his is too tall and wouldn't clear my hood) and drove to Murray's. Had them check my old battery, and it was sitting at 448 CCA. New it was 525. I decided to get a new battery anyway. Guy I was supposed to graduate high school with was working, and I got a Optima Red Top, 800CCA/1000CA for $80! Went outside, strapped her in, and she started after ~10 seconds of cranking. SO EXCITED! Went and filled up with gas, and my gas gauge sticks when it's full at just over 1/2 tank. Put WAY too much 2 cycle oil in at the gas station (thought I had 1/8th tank, measured 12 oz's, only had a little left in bottle, ended up pouring 14oz of 2 stroke in and could only fit 6.5 gallons in the tank). Oh well, extra lube never hurt anyone, except the people behind me!

On my way home, got stuck behind a couple of people doing 30 in a 50. Stayed in second, waited for the passing zone, and BAM, she hasn't accelerated like that in a LONG time. Secondaried kicked in *almost* instantly, by the time I looked down at the tach (~1-2 seconds), I was pegging the needle at 8k. OOPS! She was still pulling like a banshee at those rpm's tho.

Anyway, long story short, I'm happy today. Next step: SeaFoam the f*ck out of my engine.

Congrats man! Now get it over here so we can get that timing set! Actually, there is an AutoX at a dirt track between here and Ionia next Saturday (check the michigan site). I will be there, and so will my timing light if you can make it...
