Lightbulb Difference between 84 and 86 housings

Has anyone here built a 13b using one 1984/5 housing and one second gen housing?

I know there is a metal diffuser (which I will remove) in the exhaust port of the second gen housing. Is there anything else different?

Mazdatrix has a different part number for the different years of the coolant seals.

So basically I wanted to built a SE motor with one second gen housing, the rest is all se components.

Thank you

IIRC, It cant be done, the water seals are in different locations between the years.

one has them in the housing and the other in the plates.

I thought the water seal location thingy was just changed between 12a and 13b?

But I'm not sure

Nope. All 1st gen engines have the grooves in the rotor housings, including GSL-SE 13B's and the 70's engines. All 2nd gen engines all have the grooves in the iron housings,as do the 3rd gens. Not sure if they changed back for the Renesis.
There was also a slight change in the shape of the rotor housing for 2nd gens. This is supposed to prevent 1st gen rotors from working in the 2nd gen housings,(and vice-verse)but this is widely debated and many say they've succesfully done it even though some builders say you shouldnt.
