Diden't break 14s at SiR this weekend. Heres Why:
I spun them outa the hole WAY to hard, first three gears was just tire smoke. when I got half way down the track sompthing broke and made a HORRIBLE sound from under the hood. I let off the throttle and coasted the rest of the way. yeah, that 17 seccond run sucked. I usualy run 15.7 and if it was a good run I KNOW I would have hit a 14.
Upon retuning to the pits I inspected the problem and coulden't find it. my car was runing ok but I dident want to risk another run if there was a problem lurking. (not worth a new motor.)
It turns out that there was a bad spark plug in my no1 rotor. the porcalin on the rotor side of the plug broke and flew into the apex seals. My motor is ok, copression is fine. NEVER BUY NIPPON DENSO SPARK PLUGS!!!! That could have easily been my motor. stick with NGK.
