Did original Equipment tires have raised white lettering?
I plan to keep my RX-7 stock, since it is so slow. In light of that, does anyone know whether the originl equipment tires had raised white lettering or not? I saw what was supposed to be a factory photo on ebay of one with white lettering, but I haven't seen this elsewhere. Anyone?

When I bought my first Rex in 85, an 83 gsl, it still had factory tires. They were Bridgestones, 185/70/13, with raised white letters. They quickly went in the trash for a set of BFG Comp TAs in 205/60/13. The Bridgestones weren't sticky, sqealed a lot and sucked in the rain.

Question for you - I plan to purchase a set of the BFG's, as the tires mine has on it are pitiful 175/70/13's. Are you happy with the traction of these tires?

Go to the 1st gen forums picture page (in a sticky @ the top) and look for a user names Ibell (he has a picture of his 1st gen 13,000km, 8000miles) It'll give ya a real picture of what the 1st gen looked like right off the showroom floor (all original)
Hope this helps.
