Question Did i just kill my engine?

so i was driving trying to figure out my stumbling and sputtering and also giving a friend a ride home, well when we got where we were going my idol went to crap and it started sounding like an old vw bug, i then looked down the carb and saw that my secondarys were completely dry, so i pulled the plugs out and they are toasted. is there any chance new plugs will fix this or is it much worse? thanks!

Secondaries should be dry. What color are the plugs?

That's the leading #1 plug, they also smell burnt, they dont even smell like gas at all. so the secondarys woulden't have any gas even after going wide open on the highway then shutting down?

Your plugs look to be burning OK.

And every time I went all out in 3rd then shut off the car, the secondaries were never wet.
Rotaries suck some gas now

I will put my vote towards a vacuum leak.

Here is what mine sounded like when it had a leak:

I also opened the secondarys by hand and they aren't spraying any gas.

Your statement makes no sense!

You can't be driving and lose your idle! Did you lose power? Did you come to a stop and the engine idled poorly?

Yes, I lost power after i went wide open to try to figure out what rpm i was bogging down at the worst, i ran 3rd gear up to 55 mph then shut down because we were about to turn off at my friends house.

fuel pump is good, secondary float is actualy a little high, as in to much fuel. primary is set right.

It sounds like a case of fuel starvation and it could be the pump or something as simple as the filter. How old is the filter? Pull it off and cut it open to see if you have any blockage or crud build-up in the bottom.

Secondaries don't squirt gas like the primaries do when the car is off. The float bowls are not primary and secondary. Each float bowl has a primary and secondary main fuel jet in the bottom. The front bowl supplies the front primary and secondary barrels and rotor and the rear bowl supplies the rear primary and secondary barrels and rotor.

Check this hose if you still have emission control installed.

I would be looking for a vacuum leak as already mentioned.

Just to let everyone know. He has a holley. at idle if you open the secondarys carefully you can see fuel come out the secondarys if they are working. But sounds like a fuel starvation problem. So check fuel filter intake out of tank and pump.

Easy enough to check. Pull the plugs a check for spark.
