before i did the alcohol trick for smog my car would idle fine.. but now it keeps shutting off. now if im driving its fine, unit i get to a stop it dies. i also did the secondary throttle cable connect trick but it still wont idle HELP!!!!

 

How much alky did you add to how much fuel and explain what you mean by the secondary throttle cable trick. The Nikkis only have 1 throttle cable, the other 3 are choke, hot start assist and cruise control.

 

I think he means the "teeter totter"...

Check for spark on the leading and trailing ignition before you start digging into the carb too deeply. The problem is most likely carb related, but better to eliminate the easy possibilities first.

Also, look around and see if maybe you knocked a vacuum line off while you were messing around in there.

 

aww ok ill check vacumes. as for the alky i added 1 gallon to a 1/4 tank. then after the smog i added 5 dollars more of gas. and as for the throttle trick i did the teeter totter that was on the forums last week
