Diamond race wheels for the street?

What size diamond wheels do you guys run on the street? I was thinking of getting a set of 15x7's so I can wrap them with Azenis. What backspacing should I run? I'm torn between these and the 13x8's with a 4in backspace. This will see occasional drag and autoX use.

Thanks, Ed

i run 15x7 with a 4.5" backspace on the street.

i may sell them soon tho..going with something smaller for racing.

i get a lot of comments on how the car really looks "mean" from the stance that the wheels give it.

How low is your car? I've got ST springs in the back and GC coilovers in the front. You think I'll rub? What size tires are you running? PM me on how much youre asking for the wheels.

Thanks, Ed
How about a sideview pic of the car?

I would go with the 13" by 8" for autocross.

WHEELS

Better choice would be Circle Racing Wheels as all the rest of the circle track wheel mfg's make their wheels with 5/8" dia bolt holes for circle track. Circle makes wheels for SCCA with 1/2" dia holes and can use stock lug nuts. Wheels with 5/8 holes use 1" dia lug nuts and are at a different angle for wheels with 5/8 holes. Read the small print in their catalogs before you buy. See pictures of them in GRM on their Spitfire. Nothing wrong with the other co's products except this. By the way, Circles SCCA wheels weigh 12lbs in a 13x7 size.

does anyone know what the offset is of these wheels? I want to run 225/50/15's in the rear with these wheels and I already rub with 205/50/15 with the old school riken mesh rims i have on now. my car is lowered 1.5 inches.

Interesting, didnt know that circle wheels can use stock nuts thanks. The diamonds do require racing 1" lug nuts. They have a different taper than stock. I used stock style lug nuts for a while b4 I found this out with no ill effects. But you should use the correct nuts for saftey.

I use 4" backspace wheels with no problems.

Wheels 101

You better go read their catalog. Diamond says right in their catalog to never use stock lug nuts with a wheel with 5/8" dia holes and to never use a 60deg stock lug nut on a wheel made for a 45 deg (1 inch) lug nut. You haven't lived till one of your wheels cross's the finish line before you.

Carl!
Circle Wheel makes them both ways. The SCCA wheels are in a different section of their catalog. Keep looking, you'll find it. There as lite as most over the counter mags too.

Thanks for the info Dick. Kurt, get the correct nuts man, its important. The holes on your rims will wallow out and eventually the rim will fail.

Oh and side note hijack. I got those nuts for your suspension. Havent had the chance to mail them. I took em with me to GIR. Thought you might show up there. Ill get em to you.
