Diamond 13x8 wheels - will they fit?

I have the opportunity to pick up a set of Diamond 13x8s and was wondering if anyone else is successfully running these on their 1st gen.? They have an approximate backspacing of 3.875" and frontspacing of approx 5". I am concerned whether or not they will rub anything on my '83 with RB front springs.

Anyone running these without problems?

Mike

I have seen others run diamond wheels but do not know the backspacing they had.
Diamond makes so many wheels and will make you wheels in any fitment or backspacing
So the only way to know for sure is to try them out

13x7 with zero offset fit just fine on my '80, have yet to try them on the '85 which sits a lot lower. I recall there was a LOT of inboard clearance - 13x8 with 3.875 should be fine, might need to roll fender lip. 13x8 with 5" backspacing might have strut contact.

5" was the frontspacing measurement, or how much the wheel sticks out from mounting surface. Another set of 13x6 wheels I own have 3" frontspacing and they stick out a bit more than stock wheels, so I'm not sure if 5" is going to be overboard or look goofy.

Nothing looks to goofy when looking for traction at the track, I do belive those are a track rim, not meant for the street

I just got a set of those, 13x8 with a 4" backspace. They fit, but they do stick out from the side of the car. It's nota concern for me as I'll be using them only at the autocross course, but as my buddy from France stated; "Looks like a beautiful spanish car"

Also, unless you wheels were specially made, Diamond wheels will NOT hold up to standard road use. They are not DOT approved, and will more than likely get bent all to hell the first time you hit a nice pothole. They also don't have beadlocks that keep the tires on the rim when they go flat, and require special lugnuts.

For more info, go to www.diamondracing.com Bill who run the sit is real good about answering questions.
