desperatly need help

here is the situation. while i was driving a few days ago my car died. the engine felt like it was being sufficated, and it then stalled. and everytime that i try to start it, the engine turns but it will not start. the sound is asthough it is not getting any fuel (put could just as easily be something else)

i filled it with gas (just incase) and it would not start. i tried jumpstarting it, and still would not start. there is around 12v stored in the batery. my first thought was that my fuel pump could have crapped on me, but i checked and that is working fine. carb has plenty of fuel, so the fuel lines should be alright.

tried starter fluid, and no substantial difference.

i just pulled one of the leading plugs, and it sparkes, so they should be good.

help!!!!! please!!!!!!!! what else could be going on?

Give us a little more info. What was the condition of the spark plug when you removed it? Was it wet or dry, fouled or not.

i am going to change the fuel filter anways (could not hurt) but i donot thinkt hat that will affect anything.

as far as the plugs, they were fairly dirty. looked like the plug hole (in engine) was covered in grease. the plug was dry, but i didnot check the hole.. as far as it being fouled, i donot know how to check for that.
