Delooming Engine Bay
Has anyone deloomed their engine bay. Removed all ununsed wiring and rerouted the looms to make the engine bay cleaner. I'm from South Africa and there arent many RX7 around, so everyone wants to see the engine. Which looks crap with a million and one cables and wires hanging all over it. Any pics and descriptions would be great.
Theres a wierd motor in there that needs t be seen. Dynamite coms in small packages.

I removed all the emissions wiring back to the firewall, alot of work, but it does clean things up a bit.
this winter its time to move all the wires to the fenderwells.

I did the emissions stuff, Just unwraped all of it back to the plug, Cut off all the ones that were loose, got them straight and looking good, then used a roll of 99 cent electrial tape to wrap it all back up.

I haven't done this yet, but will, and I won't be cutting any wires unless it's a last resort. You can almost always remove the pins from the connector rather than cutting the wires. This is much cleaner and allows you to easily return the wire to it's original position if you want/need to in the future. If you must cut the wires, I suggest cutting them 3 or 4 inches from the connector, for a similar reason...it makes it easier to splice a wire back in if you want or need to in the future.
I just went out and removed a pin to show how easy it is...see the picture below. It's from the engine harness where it connects to the front harness just outside the firewall on the passenger's side.

I just removed all the wires associated with the ratsnest and stuff....I just squeezed the pind with needle nose pliers, and they slide right out....much eaiser and nicer to do it that way incase you need to go back!
