dellorto idle set screw

my idle set screw is striped and i lookd at both my dellortos there are 2 different styles of idle set screws. ones that sit inside of a sleeve and ones that sit on top. i need the ones that sit on top and i dont know how to order that sense there r 2 kinds. i was also thinking that is there i way to fix the trheads on it. i realy cant use a tap on it the threads are too fine i need help on this one guys pls

Man everytime I read your posts I start to kinda regret buying my dellorto and I havent even got it yet!

you got to think that i got one of mine from a fool that didnt take of it! and the other came off a dead 82 83 gls and i dont think either one of the old owner knew what they had nor knkew how to take care of them so dont sweat it. and you got to think too that there are plently of ppl on here that have had dellortos w/o the problems i had. and some advice the idle set screw doesnt tighten down anymore and there are still threads showing dont try and make them go any more. thats what i did bc the threads where jacked and i thought it was my threads that made it so it couldnt go anymore.

over screwed idle mixture screws can be fixed with devcon aluminum putty.

not cheap but is gas resistant and bonds very very very well to aluminum dellorto.

then call jorge and get a matched pair of screws. sheesh.

so use this devcon aluminum putty and redrill the hole and then call Jorge and have a matching set of idle set screws and im all good. sounds simple enough. thanks DF7!

edit: can i use the devcon plastic steel putty from racing beat or do i need the aluminum putty

i talkked to one of the sheet metal guys at work and im going to bring it in and we are going to use aircraft grade metalset mil spec 2020 is the last 4 in the NSN it goes on smooth and i know a lot of ppl that live by it so im going to give it a try
