awe *** on now bud, dont get bend out of shape. Dont quote me boy, I aint done talking yet (as Easy E said). I never said IDA. I said weber, so get it right.

if you give me a choice between "weber DCO" VS dellorto 48, it will be a weber as the parts are easy to get and the again "weber DCO" will launch harder than a dellorto. these are based from my own experiment (trial and errors) and not parroted knowledge via the internet. There are books out there of course but they are primarily to give you the basic knowledge and sequence of operation.

My fuse burns long and slow my friend. I get irritated at times, but your gonna have to push my buttons alot harder to get me riled. LOL Too many years of "anger management" and rehabing to let little **** get to me too much. But just so ya know, here's another from the "weber" thread. LOL
"45 dcoe = no room for improvement and not a big improvement over a modified nikki. sorry for being an *** but that is the honest truth."

Now, BS outta the way, I would honestly appreciate some first hand facts, if you have them. For a guy who encourages questioning, you can't really expect to just say "this a better way" etc. and expect that people will blindly listen and take it as fact. Tell me/us why and how, or give me hard facts to chew on and I'm all ears. Otherwise, respect or not, your just another guy saying his way is best.

PDF's available

I just wanted to let you guys know that I have alot of this stuff and some more on my PC in pdf. so if anyone needs a copy to save or print for easier reading/printing, pm me and I'll be glad to email you a copy of what you need. I haven't posted all here yet as alot of this I have to cut and paste in sections from adobe into word and paint, then copy to here. It's a pain in the ***.

thats right, a weber 45 is not big enough but if you look again, prior posts, I said weber 48 VS dellorto 48

you can do better than that. now, convince me why a dellorto 48 is better than a weber 48. lets pretend I'm a hardcore chevy guy and your a ford salesman who is trying to selling me ford F150

Holy **** Wacky! You're like a dog with a bone, you just can't let it go. Considering that it was YOU who said one was better than the other and YOU who claims to have all the experience and knowledge here, why is it I should need to take a stance I haven't even made?! LOL The only comparison I ever made was about emulsion tubes.

FYI- I'm actualy more of a chevy guy, but I do like Fords trucks better. There's a reason Drag racers use Ford rear ends more than often than not.

Yeah I sorted it out a few weeks ago. I ended up buying a selection of Holleys jets and a wideband. I got "dialed in" in one day.

I am in the process of tuning my dell now. Did your guy in AZ ever come through for parts? CB performance will not return a call or email, and neither will carbs unlimited...both the only places I have found stateside to get dell jets.

I would love to take my carb back to the orig settings from RB and go from there with tuning. Finding someplace stateside who can offer parts would be awesome. This is actually the reason I am considering getting rid of my dell system...no place for parts

Call these guys. I get Dellorto parts from them all the time. They ship. Their Dellorto inventory is getting smaller though. They may need to ream out the larger jets (230) from smaller jets, but it all works.

Even though dellorto.com is not in the states, its in the UK, they ship stuff pretty
quickly. Last time I ordered from them it took less than 2 weeks to get it.

Also they have a large inventory of Dell parts because they basically bought
out the dellorto parts warehouse when production ended.

Thats some really good info. Sounds like its the build plan for a RB Dellorto when
you read thru it. Shows how much work they put into making it just right.

I'm going to see if the gruntled.com/Dellorto site can be updated with this info.

We should archive this Dell thread as well due to the boatloads of info reflected into here.

Ok so I posted an email to Dave that runs the gruntled site and heres his response:

Thanks for passing this to me! This is the first information I have seen from RB on their carb modifications. I'll update my website in the next couple of weeks.

-Dave
So this info will soon get reflected there and forever keep folks enlightened.

Big thanks to Dave for making/maintianing his site.

you are all welcome. I am building a good relationship with Jim, and the request for infomation on set up's was free flowing being they do not sell this set up anymore. If anyone needs more info or tuning tips please send me a pm. going to do a retune next week it get the a/r numbers a little higher.

Current numbers on the wide band are...14.2 idle this is good but want to be at 14.5 to 14.7.
light throttle is at 12.8 to 13.2..too rich need to be higher
Wot is 10.0....WAY too rich..looking for high 11 to low 12 numbers.
This is taking some time to sort out and costing a lot in jets and tubes, venturi's and shipping of parts from the UK.

When I get it all sorted I will post the final settings and the set up of the 6port with rb header and exhaust. Keep in mind I am doing this on a fresh engine, older engines may need some minor tweeking to get the numbers better.

Glad I could share this info, and Thanks Ray for posting it here for all to see.

something just came to my attension the RB mod to the idle jet Holder.

DRILL TO1.4 MM this jet is plugged in the top at the screw driver slot.
By drilling this will give the carb air bleed on the low speed curcuit thus leaning out the slow speed and inproving off idle responce.
Holy crap the answers to my tuning problems are now solved. sorry really overlooked this even though I posted it.
Still learn something every day, as for the e tube mod to the main e tube, it is just a myth.
they are all the same. this tune should be the best we can do. joe

This thread is kind of old and almost any Dellorto part can now be had off a guy on ebay from Italy.
